That's cool Marc, nice stub.Great thread about the Stones and concerts..
My first was '72 in Asbury Park NJ..Black Sabbath w/Black Oak Arkansas opening.
Couple years later,in a wet and rainy warehouse Kiss (just before first album came out)
Very strange act at the time and they were just filling in for Blue Oyster Cult..(Hated it,didn't like this guy in makeup spewing fire over the front rows of the crowd)
Saw Springsteen many times at the Pony before he made it big also.
So many good ones to remember..Eagles w/Joe Walsh OPENING for the Beach Boys at Roosvelt Stadium in Jersey City NJ Outdoor stadium Pink Floyd there twice..
Sans Frank Zappa (4x) I'd have to say the Stones at MSG in NYC in 1975 was most memorable though. They played 6 nights and I remember getting offered $75 outside, forget the face value of the ticket, maybe $25?
But it seemed more like an event than a concert..Half the crowd was in jackets and ties and dresses, who either dressed for the event or just got off work, probably a combo of both..
This was the tour that had Mick and a phallic inflateable come up through the stage and Ronnie Woods first live shows..Billy Preston and a Jamaican drum band opened the show..
I'm sure Archie will chime in on some NJ/NYC concerts he's seen..
