I think that is a mistake. There are all these variations (and multiply them by 100's for all the different clubs that used them as roulette chips) and all the little barber shop back room games, and little old ladies who hosted poker games in their parlors):
different colors and shades
square edged, round edged, semi-square edged
different design variations (like thickness, length of designs [suits, crosses, crescent moons], etc.)
Etc.
