Now, according to what Steve is additionally proposing; would strip the right to vote away from every present Associate Member? Folks, this is a MAJOR change to our club's Constitution that I personally can not accept. This is a very steep, backward slope that we are embarking on... one that should alienate every current associate member. Associate members contribute much to our organization in so many ways, other than by simply attending the club banquets. Steve; please withdraw this proposed change.
Can someone answer this question. How many people vote each year on OTY or other election issues?
Then can you tell me what the percentage of associate members voted on these issues.
One last question, is there any validation that a person lives in a member’s house? I can say I have a wife and 10 children living at home; does the club check and make sure I have that many kids in the home? If there is no validation in place today, then what would stop anyone with grandkids, extended family, or even neighbors from being an associate member?
I don’t remember seeing anything when I applied for membership that confirmed that I’m telling the truth on residence or how many members are in my family.
If I wanted to control voting on issues, why wouldn’t I just make up new members with huge families and spend the money to control the vote. I only made this comment because there was a question on a previous post about voting.
Thanks
