I have a NEW FIND

I have been doing some research on an illegal casinos here in Australia and came across a casino that was originally named the West Australian Trotting Association (W.A.T.A.) but now named the Gloucester Casino.

The history is that before the Burswood Casino came to being there was an illegal Casino at the back of the local Trotting Club and Race Track here in Perth – it was run by the West Australian Trotting Association and was known as the Gloucester Park Trotting Track. Anyway after the Burswood Casino came into operation this small casino of three tables was given a licence to operate only after each of its trotting days (usually on the Friday night) and after the races were finished but it – the casino – had to be shut by midnight. So originally although it was an illegal Casino it was eventually given a limited licence.

It still operates today but is now called the Gloucester Casino.

I have found an old son of a gun who happened to have some of the chips – there are two different $2.00 chips - gold and red hot stamp- 1st edition (only had one chip of this one and I am keeping it) and 2nd editions, a $5.00 chip, a $10.00 chip and a $50.00 chip.

Apparently there was another 1st edition $5.00 chip (that was green in colour, diamond mold, with a gold hot stamp similar to the $2.00 and $10.00 chips.)

These chips except the $5.00 (2nd edition) that you see below are more than fifty years old – originally came out in the early sixties.

I have in total 4 x $2.00 chips , 5 x $5.00 chips and just the one $10.00 chip spare.

$2.00 chip is $12.00 - $5.00 chip is $14.00 - $10.00 chip is $25.00 but the above is all there is ever going to be. Plus $3.00 Postage for any amount of chips purchased.
