I wonder how many of these color varieties or variations are due to re-orders of the same chip? Much like buying rolls of wallpaper. One has to make sure that the rolls are matched from the same run in order to avoid color variations. Maybe a run of similar chips manufactured on Monday, may have slightly different pigments from the ones manufactured on Friday.
