(I shall post a PIC if I can find one tonight)

a bing search of car valence will show plenty of PICs,

A valance is a vehicle component or panel that conceals other structural detail of the bottom corner of your vehicle. These are found in front and in the rear side of the vehicle. These are also used to provide more protection to your vehicle especially the rear end of your vehicle from the mud splashes. Rear valance is located in the bottom corner of the rear fenders while rear corner valance below the rear panel. These are often a separate panel that extends roughly from behind the rear bumper. Aftermarket valance has different finishes such as aluminum or chrome metal finish. These are manufactured with high quality materials to ensure durability and longevity of function to any vehicle. Each finish has each own impact to the whole attractiveness of the vehicle.
