While it's true this chip is from the 80's ... it is the only regular issue $5 chip issued at Harrahs since day one and is still in use on the tables as of this past weekend in 2001! These metal insert BJ chips wear like iron! I'm not familiar with any BJ chip that has raised letter center inlays. Someone told me about a similar Playboy chip that had raised letters on ebay .... but from what I can determine, this phenomenon is due to an optical illusion. I would think that the seller would have made certain to mention a raised letters insert in his description if such were the case. See link below.

There are two varieties of this chip. The one shown in the ebay link which is a dark red with a large blue numeral "5". The other variation is a much brighter red with a smaller blue numeral "5". Both color variations are listed in my A.C. catalog as HAR-5 and HAR-5a ... but the difference in the numeral variations was overlooked in the 2000 Edition which will be corrected in future issues. Thanks to Bernie in Florida for pointing it out to me.
