I found this past election to be basically an extension of a very ugly trend. Minimal thoughtful discussion of the very real challenges facing this country. From both sides: lots of pandering and platitudes, lots of vicious attack ads, lots of money with all sorts of agendas. I think it's very sad that moderate politicians are either voluntarily leaving or aren't getting re-elected. The result is an incredible level of partisanship with each side demonizing the other and not reaching the sort of intelligent compromises that have served us well in the past. This is the message that the people should be giving their elected representatives. Instead we get what we ask for.
I'll spare this board my personal political preferences but I'll allow myself one political post to this board every four years.
