Sandy is nearly here on the Delaware Coast. We are riding out the storm (in spite of call for mandatory evacuation). It's a "Birl" thing - we have never left during any storm in the last 67 years. This could be the worst storm in our area since the "Great March Storm of 1962" ( check it out on the net). That was 50 years ago and I was 15 years old when we went thru that one. We got 42" of water in the house.

I still live on the same property, but we have raised ground and house over the years. Had water around the house earlier today but not inside yet. Hopefully we wiill make it thru the night - still have power and heat at the moment. Storm has sped up so we may get a break and it might be at its' worst at low tide instead of high tide as earlier predicted - every little bit helps.
