The brass cores from Hyatt Regency, Lake Tahoe have an interesting way of coding the denomination on the reverse of the chip. Of course, the arabic numerals are also on the chip, but I don't recall any other casino taking the time to design denomination graphics for their chips.
I haven't seen the $1000. What do you suppose the reverse looks like? I'm guessing a solid brass disc. Is there even a 1000 known?
The first four images are from The Chip Guide database. I submitted the 500 scan to them yesterday.
How about adding descriptions of the reverse patterns to TCR descriptions, David? Could say:
2 1/2 bars
5 bars
5x5 bars
1 segment
5 segments
or something like that.
