Set of 3 rare Iraqi 1985 Saddam-era casino gambling chips of Palm Beach Hotel Baghdad
Up for auction, at low opening bid, are the three rare, genuine, Saddam Hussein-era, 1985 Palms Casino, Baghdad, Iraq, casino chips pictured above. Better get these neat historic chips now while you can at this low bid -- I seem to be the only one selling them, and I have only 3 sets left. The three chips have "Palms Casino Baghdad" in English on one side and in Arabic on the reverse side. They come in three denominations (5, 25 and 100), no national currency specified, so they could be in whatever currency the situation warranted for the casino at the time: dinars, dollars, grains of sand, whatever!
There is no doubt about the authenticity of these exotic chips:
¶ they are pictured in the most respected chip guide of the hobby (see picture above). (Later I will be selling the plaques you see in the picture.)
¶ manufacturing records show that these coin-in-center chips were made in 1985 (while Saddam was in power) by the Bud Jones Co., Las Vegas, Nevada, for John Huxley Co. (the well-known London gambling supply distributor) for the now-defunct Iraqi casino.
¶ the chips were found by an American during his tour of duty in Iraq from 2004-2006, and then sold to me.
