Fred, I had a similar situation a few years ago and it involved a club member. I've always shipped chips to club members immediately, a policy that has burned me only a couple of times. This time the auction ended on a Sunday, I mailed the chip on Monday (before payment arrived - this was before insisted on Paypal payments) and the winning bidder informed me on Wednesday that his address on file with was an old one. He asked if I could mail the chip to his new address. When I told him I had already mailed the chip to his address on file, he admitted the error was his and asked if I had another of that chip that I could send him (I did), since he had some sort of a dispute with the person who had moved into his old apartment and said he was not going to be able to get the chip I had already mailed him. He paid full price, plus shipping, for the second chip, and somebody in his old apartment probably became the surprised owner of a limited edition chip from Reno.
I had already decided I would ship a replacement chip to him at my cost, but it never came to that.
I hope your bidder accepts the responsibility for his error as mine did.
