I have been going to Vegas every year for 16 straight years. We stayed at the Frontier until they imploded it. I just loved the charm of the place. It wasn't the cleanest casino and they certainly didn't have the nicest tables, chairs, sportsbook, etc. but there was something about it that I couldn't put my finger on. Since they imploded it, we have bounced around from The Flamingo, IP and The Riviera but can't find a home. We don't want a new, fancy, big casino. I would NEVER stay at The Wynn, Venetian, etc. no matter what the price. We like older, slower more historic casinos. We are planning on heading downtown starting next year. Collecting Frontier chips and looking at them brings back a lot of good memories.
I have read that the Frontier sign was purchased by the lead singer of "The Killers" which is a Las Vegas band. He was planning on errecting the sign at his house somewhere in the desert. If anyone has information on if this is done and where I could find it, it would be appreciated. One regret is that we never got a picture of our group in front of The Frontier sign. I would love an opportunity to do that.
