$1000 denominated chips (including commemorative, NCV, and fantasy):
This section seems to be taking a bit of a foreign flavor as 20% of this collection is from foreign casinos. I can’t really seem to be able to answer the question as to why that is, in my head I’d say security measures were more lax and people were able to walk off with a greater selection of chips? Perhaps they are not required to destroy chips when they become obsolete as US casinos are? I’m really not sure, if anyone knows the answer or wishes to venture a guess, I’d love to hear it!
As far as the US portion goes, the majority seem to be of the tournament / NCV variety. There are a couple of commemoratives thrown in too. This really isn’t a mystery as to why. Not many folks in the market for $1000 chips that are still “live”!! That would be one hell of an expensive collection!!
As far as the commemoratives, I believe the only $1000 borland I’m missing is the Dunes? If I’m incorrect please set me straight!
