I used to get outbid all the time. A $100 chip would go for $350. I would be the second high at $345. The third high bidder would be $95

After butting heads countless times we came to a gentleman's agree. We alternate bidding. I get chips. He saves tons of money. I call it a faustian bargain. I get chips but am eternally damned!

BTW, were you around 10 years ago or so. During that time, high end Nevada chips were ruled on ebay by Spike1282 (I think that was his ebay name). I never recall him losing an auction. That included auctions hitting the 40k range. Although he still collects chips, he is now into steins (very expensive steins). it was great entertainment for the rest of us.
