Strange but when I right click I get 3351 bytes on the left and 4784 on the right. I guess that explains the clarity difference. However, since the graphics program is compressing automatically, I think it pays to stay clear of these programs.

Additionally one reason in the past to use a graphics program was to combine two or more scans. Since Greg's BB now allows more than one scan, there is one less reason to use a graphics program.

Then again, maybe a better graphics program will produce a better scan.
