I don't really remember using a fountain pen. In 6th grade we had pens that had
separate points and we used inkwells. Everyone used brown paper bags for book
covers.

I do remember going to the cobbler's with shoes to be re-heeled.

Having no brothers or sisters I, thankfully, never had to deal with hand-me-downs.

We had black and white television that was maybe 17 inches and I had a tv with a
tiny screen - probably 8 or 9 inches. It had a magnifying glass that was very thick,
flat on one side and rounded on the front. That glass would probably be worth a
lot of money today. The year was 1956 and I remember it because it was the night
Elvis Presley appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show.

Anyone remember clip-on roller skates with ball bearing wheels? We needed a skate
key to loosen, tighten and adjust them.
