I have always tried to maintain some anonymity on the internet. Until I found this site I did very well. Although I certainly don't claim that nobody could trace my real world identity, I took enough steps to make it difficult.
What I do, buy, say, read, look at on the internet is nobody's business. Even though I might not care if somebody knows that I just bought a $20 Sahara Plaque on Ebay, If I used my real name, anybody who might be trying to find out info about me would be one step closer.
When i first came to this site, I would not post because you used your names and email addresses. I guarded my email address and never posted it so as to avoid the spam that was sure to follow. Fortunately it appears that my email address was not harvested from this site except by chippers.
As a general rule I still try to make it as difficult as possible to trace my steps, but this site has caused me to drop some of my anonymity.
