So I am wondering, why is this particular current $1 chip such a pain in the rear end to get?

On my last trip to Vegas, I was told by a lovely woman at the cage (after she got off the phone with her boss) that these chips weren't ordered, they just show up in the middle of a box of chips. Sometimes. Seems like the Gaming Control Board would have issues if that were truly the case, but perhaps that's a question for Gene Trimble to investigate.

So does anybody have an idea of what's going on? Is this really the case, or is that the story the people at the cage have been told to tell us because they are tired of us collectors bothering them for some chips? If you can shed some light into the situation I would greatly appreciate it.
