I’m new to the ‘Board, but have been collecting chips for a few years now. Not sure if this is the venue to point out a couple of observations on issues dates for chips from my favorite casino, The Shoe.
The Chip Rack # N1769 & N4244 shows an issue date for these chips of 1951. It appears that the horseshoe hot stamp is reflecting the Million Dollar display that Joe W. Brown established 3 years later in 1954 while Mr. Binion was on “vacation”.
The other chips I’m in question are the “building’ series. Most recognize these chips were issued in the early 1950’s. Looking into historical pictures on the Horseshoe Club, the image is reflecting the famous neon front remodel that didn’t happen until circa 1960!
For those of you that have more insight, please share your thoughts.
