Price depends on year, star note, and of course condition. If you have 25 common year (say, 1957) they could be worth around $4 each if crisp uncirculated. Unfortunately, you can see a lot of them on eBay that don't sell when offered for $5.
You are right that consecutive numbers command a premium. Price guides don't tell you how much of a premium, though. I have seen them offered at coin shows for $5 to $6 per note. Again, whether they sell is another issue.
If they are a rare date or signature combination, they are obviously worth more. A price guide can be a handy reference in spotting those.
Circulated notes typically sell at coin shows and dealers for $2 to $2.50 each.
It would have been better to hold on to the actual silver!
