Which means that the people who do the work to organize, administer and present a convention HAVE THE RIGHT to decide what is or is not sold at their convention.

Why? It's our convention. Neither you nor anyone else has any "right" to force us to do what we choose not to do. If you want to put on a convention at which slabbed chips can be bought and sold, please feel free to do so.
