Proud Of Myself

Played in the WSOP event #29 Seniors No-limit Holdem. Tried desperately to remember
the three P's. That is ( patience, position, and premium cards). I think you could add
another P to that group...prostate. We seniors have to schedule in plenty of bathroom
breaks, and that is an entire strategy of it's own.

I was happy to make it into the money, but broken hearted to not do better. My finish
at 336th place payed out $2118.00. but pales to the $603000 first place prize, not to
mention the bracelet.

The night before the beginning of day two play, I did some evaluating and planning.
My thoughts were this. With 462 players left out of 4128, I was still 39 places away from
cashing. I had a chip stack of 30,700 while the average stack starting on day two was
a shade over 27,000. So not bad I thought. Remember those three P's I thought.

This is what I did not plan for, and it is not fun to be surprised on the morning of
day two. Although I was thinking about having more than the average stack I was not prepared
for the table I was assigned to. My 30,700 in chips was low stack at the table, and the players
I was with were very agressive in raising pre flop. I played for just short of two hours that morning
and am still waiting for that premium hand. Best hand I was dealt that morning was AJ off-suit. That
was the only hand I won. My only pair was 8-8 and I pre flop raised four times the big blind. I got
one caller, and when the flop came 2-5-7 rainbow I went all-in with my last 8000 and was Called
by a fella with KJ off-suit. King on the river and I was done. I was heartbrokenfor a day or two, but
looking back it was a real hoot.

Hope to do better next year.
