Two days after the convention Cindy dragged both kids, the 2 grand kids and me to Daytona Beach for a beauty pageant. The oldest granddaughter won an entry at the regional pageant and since we were paying for the suite I wasn't going to stay home. Here is Simone in her dress.

She won her age category for natural beauty and $250. Since I don't really approve of beauty pageants I had to do something else. So here I am with the youngest granddaughter:

There was bad news, good news, worse news for me. The bad news is the beach there was absolutely clean with almost nothing to find with the metal detector. The good news is I did find $1.60 in change the first. The worst news is that I was talking to another guy with a metal detector late that day when a wave came up and knocked my machine into the ocean. It fried the electronics. Now I gotta send my $1000 machine in for repair. But we had fun anyway on the beach and no one got sunburned.
