SNAPPER COLLECTORS CLUB FORMING

The Club will be called, "The Dizzy and Dandy Snappers" because it is a ‘snappy” name. Cute Name, but I am serious. My main reason for starting the Club is:

To convince the persons operating the ChipGuide to include a Denomination Search since almost all chip collectors have most of their various collections by denomination. I am told that his type of search is being considered, but if available, it is still a few years away.

THEREFORE, IN THE MEANTIME, this CLUB’s Project will be to:

Create a MASTER LIST of Snappers in a data base form where all collectors can check both a "Country, City, Casino" list and/or an "Alphabetical" List. I have started such a list and have almost 1300 entries. My list can be sorted by every category. Starting, July 1, 2012, I will add at least 5 more snappers to that list each day; and with the help of others who join this Club and exchange their lists, this Club should be able to complete this list in about 6 months. I estimate a total of 3,000 to 3,500 entries (including tokens, snappers of snappers, 7.50 and 12.50 denominations). If I am correct in my estimate, a fairly complete list will require adding 300 items per month to my MASTER LIST.

I understand that there are Snapper Collectors who are limiting their collection to the US and/or Caribbean only. Therefore the members might want to start thinking about the Club’s order of completion. I believe I have a fairly complete list of Cruise Ships (not day cruises). I have designated my 3-letter Country Code for Cruise Ships to ATS (for At Sea).

THEN, insert values for the above list and make it initially available to Snapper Club members, who contributed to the list and values.When a majority of the Snapper Club members are satisfied that the list is fairly accurate, then this Club will make it available to all CCGTCC members as well as prospective members and the internet public.

Name; Mailing Address; Cell Phone number; email address to be used; number of Snappers on your list, if any; and, your limitations for your collection (such as, Denominations, Countries, States/Provinces, Continents, etc.), if any.

I have about 1300 entries on my world-wide list. It includes all denominations from 12½¢, 125, 250, 2.50, 2.5, 2,5, 2/6 etc.
In my list, “Casino” is like “The”. If “Casino” appears on a chip at the end of the “Name”, I do not include it. For example “Grand Casino” just appears as “Grand”. If “Casino” is the first word in the “Name, then I add it at the end, preceded by a “,”. Otherwise, if “Casino” is not the first or last word, then the entire name is listed.
