I know from first hand experience the pain that Nancy is experiencing, and the stitches look awful right now, but if she does her physical therapy regimen religiously she will be back to "normal" by next year's convention for sure. Everyone I ever spoke to that had knee replacement surgery all say that they wish they had the surgery done sooner. I'm sure that six months from now, Nancy will be saying the same thing.
