Excellent timing on your question because I live in one of 3 states that has no gambling at all. This week Tennessee passed a resolution to put the matter of voting on a state lottery before the poeople in 2002. Because of the lack of casinos and the ever present Bible Belt here I have very little luck finding any chips in this area. After 8 years in Tennessee I can count on one hand the number of times I have found chips here. I just got back from a 12 hour marathon chip hunt. I visited 4 antique malls, 3 flea markets, 3 pawn shops, and at my coin store where I get my chip supplies I met a guy who wanted to sell me his chips. While I didn't find any spectactular chips like Rene, I did find something at almost every place I visited this time. This is almost unbelievable to me. Five years ago people would give me a blank stare if I asked for casino or poker chips. Today one guy and his wife argued if it was last week or two weeks ago that they sold the only chips they have had recently. My best find today was a $20 Gold Coast Silver Strike. Best price was $2 for a Harveys token that had .999 fine on it when I bought it (I thought it might be a Franklin mint token). After getting it home I noticed that it had $7 redeemable value on it. Turns out it is also a silver strike! Perseverence pays off. Keep looking and you will find something. Remember the fun is in the hunt.
