I have a number of chips that I drilled, attached to my orchid baskets with thin electrical wire & then written my catalog number on them with a fine tip Sharpie. The baskets hang out in the sun & rain, are fertilized with Peters 20-20-20 or 10-50-10 weekly & once a month Super Thrive is added. I added a few specimens to my collection today & noticed that some of the "older" chips have faded numbers. Has anybody had the same experience with their chips & is there a way to stop the fading? Some of my orchids are hanging in trees & I'm finding it increasingly difficult to climb my 20 foot ladder to write new numbers. Thanks in advance for any help.
