Illinois new find: illegal Club Belvedere, Springfield IL, poker gambling chip

DESCRIPTION: Great new find. Never on eBay before. Noted in The Gaming Table and the manufacturer's (Taylor and Co, Chicago IL, of the T-mold fame) order-shipping record card, which is reproduced below. It shows that 1000 chips (no home game here; Roman numeral "M" = 1000) were sent to the Club (no further address needed) in Springfield, Illinois, in the 1940s. Pictured below is a matchbook cover from the illegal gambling venue, night club, strip joint and dining spot. Return privileges.

Miles Davis (1926 – 1991) the famous American jazz musician, trumpeter, bandleader, and composer, got his professional start at that Club.
