or better. While 300 dpi makes for a larger file, you can always reduce it down (and Save As) to a lesser dpi for uploading. But for records keeping, I suggest always scanning at 300 dpi or better. You can always make it smaller, but never bigger without losing detail!
My comment is about scanning in general, and may NOT fix your problem. But if you are going to take the time to scan a chip, may as well do it at 300 dpi for better details.
