Yeah, I ran into several different addresses listed for the Honest John's locations. The Las Vegas Blvd. locations (2444 and 2456) are both inside the Bonanza Gift shop building. I just thought maybe they expanded into two different units? Or maybe they had offices in 2456? They seem to use 2444 on all the promotional pieces.
The downtown one also uses 304 and 308 Ogden. Both are also in the same newsstand/Liqour store/casino. Again, I just assumed that they started either the newsstand or the liquor store in one and expanded the casino into the next unit over. Again they seem to use 308 Ogden on all the promotional pieces. I never saw any info regarding the barber shop??? That must have been a pretty busy place! I wonder if they did taxes as well :-)
Now the 723-1/2 South 1st street is new to me! I never saw any info regarding that address. I did a Google street map and came up with the image below. It is 723 S. 1st Street. I'm not sure where the "1/2" would have been, but that building does look like it has been there a while! I'll ask Phil Jensen about it during the convention. He frequented the Honest John's locations back when he worked downtown, maybe he will have a recollection of it.
I wish I could find a date on the 4813 Paradise Road location. I can't find opening or closing dates anywhere. Maybe somewhere between 1973 and 1978 I guess right? :-)
I love your photo on the "I'm Back" Honest John's casino. I almost didn't put it in the article because I could not find any info about it being open. But Doug Saito said he remembered seeing it, but also did not go in. Great photo!!!
Thanks for the info Pam!
