Have you ever had that chip that you've always wanted-- but you could never find? Maybe it's not especially scarce, or even expensive, but once you decided you wanted it you couldn't ever find it?

This has been mine:

An attractive chip in it's own right, but according to the books not especially rare or especially expensive. When I first started collecting $20 chips I decided it would be a nice add to the collection. In theory it's an R-5, so there should be a box of them floating around-- however in undrilled condition especially I've found the little bugger to be elusive.

Almost as if to taunt me, I have missed out on it a couple of times, and only by a few minutes. Both of those have been David's sales on this board, where someone snatched it up literally 10 minutes or less before I saw it. I guess it has been the White Whale for a few others, as well .

In any case, a recent eBay auction and at last it is mine, after almost 9 years of searching. I put it in the dedicated spot in my display case, knowing that I had at last vanquished my foe of so many years.

And then I immediately thought... okay, what is my next quest?
