Hello. You took Kamberra image from my Ebay listing without asking me if it was OK to do so. You should have asked. I would have said "yes". We are the largest retail banknote dealer in the world and we are very excited and proud to sell Kamberra banknotes to collectors. Naturally, these banknotes are sold with the FULL disclosure that Kamberra is a virtual (fantasy) monarchy. The broader question is this: 95% of the "real" banknotes sold are no longer legal tenders, and theoretically they are worthless, yet some are sold for large chunks of money quoting you "to be paid for of course in the currency of real nations". How is it different from collecting the fantasy banknotes or any pieces of art of that matter? How do you treat banknotes from Katanga, Biafra, USSR, Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia, Rhodesia, German East Africa, French Indochina etc etc. There are over 600 nations that are no longer "real", and over 2000 of issuers that fall into the same category if I use your criteria of "reality". Furthermore, in the case of Kamberra banknotes there are less than 100 pcs of each design issued per year, whereas "real" but now obsolete banknotes have been issued in tens of millions to hundreds of millions. Latest issues of Kamberra banknotes are true masterpieces of graphic art featuring embossed seal, UV sensitive security strip, micro-print, sophisticated color transitions, optical illusions, elaborate vignettes. Each one carries its own unique serial number. Personally I am also lucky to have some obsolete designs that are no longer issued in my private collection. I am also lucky to have designs that has NEVER been issued, and exist only in the quantity of 2-3 per design. The only reason I decided to reply to your post was because a) You used my images without asking if it was OK b) The tone of your post seem to be disparaging. I will also try to attach some more images so we all can enjoy the view of the subject in question.
