The Empire Club has been attributed to San Francisco in Dick Staeffler's Memorial guide. The attribution even lists a closing date for the club of 1936.

Can anyone verify this? I have it as an UNKNOWN. As of now, it will remain there. I think the California attribution is one of those wishful attributions we run across every so often.
