I would have him use blue (a couple of shades lighter than your paint, but not light blue) and black.

A creative cross-over designed on the front and back with parallel lines, with occasional crossover down the sides.

I think I already told you that I have been an El Camino guy since 1964! Yours (I know, I know, GMC) is great looking and the striping would really make it outstanding!
