I usually add a comment in the box.

Whether I take 2nd chance offers depends to a degree how much I want the item and whether it is cheap enough for what it is.
I doubt I would bother unless it was for example an illegal or sample at $10 or less.
If an illegal gets up to $50 and I get a 2nd chance, I know the seller has a box and let it go.
If I miss out at $10 and get a 2nd chance at $9.50 I would take it, not much caring that at worst case it has cost me a couple of dollars if he relists the rest of the box each week.
