David, I disagree, not penalizing the winning bidder, they put in a bid they were willing to pay and got the item they wanted at a price they felt comfortable paying.

They wouldn't even know a 2nd chance offer was ever made, if one was.

As both a seller and a buyer, that's how I feel about 2nd chance offers.

And of course, if you don't want to do as I suggest ... don't!

But I personally don't feel it's at all unfair to reward the guy who helped create the higher selling price in the first place, if you're comfortable selling a similar item for less to the under-bidder.
