I believe the above refers to the Borland counterfeits.
There were no Toti-Gaughn samples in Borland samples we found. There would have been no reason for him to make them unless he was actually making a reorder for Toti-Gaughn. I doubt that as no sample was kept.
I suspect it just got aligned in a normal run by Bud Jones before he sold the mold to Borland.
Toti-Gaughn school was open many years and I would guess there were several runs of chips for them. Chip color runs will vary and a lot of use will darken used chips from body oils.
