Yesterday, I sent an email to CC>CC President David Sarles and the rest of the Board of Directors pointing out a typo made on the "Official Ballot" of the "Proposed Amendment to Club Consitution". The typo very seriously effects the intended meaning of the "Proposed Amendment" and as it currently reads on the ballot it does not make any sense. I therefore asked the President and the Board of Directors to invalidate the "Proposed Amendment". Following is a copy of a portion of my note:
"1) The proposed amendment calls for the addition of a fifth membership
classification, a Chapter Member.
2) The amendment reads: "Chapter Members need not be Club members when
they join a Chapter, but they must be Club members within one of their
joining any Chapter, ...".
3) I think the intent of the author is that is should read "within one
year of" and not "within one of". However, since the missing word is
extremely material to the amendment, as written, the intent of the
amendment is not clear and must be invalidated. Those voting on the
amendment are left guessing as to the meaning of this sentence. Is it
one month, one year, one decade?"
Hopefully, this beast is now dead and we can move on to more important issues.
