My most memorable chip, not the prettiest, not the ugliest, or the most valuable chip. It is the chip that connected me to the Chipboard. It is a Ste Des Bains Demer 200 Fr Monaco Jeton.

A friend, now deceased, found it in a yard sale. He knew I had a small collection of a handful of various assorted casino chips and gave it to me. I had no information about it, so I went on the internet and found the chipboard. I didn’t even know how to post then and emailed Greg Susong by his email link at the bottom of the page. He got back to me a day later and said he had no idea or information about it but there was a guy in Florida that was crazy and ate lots of bananas (not really I just added that part, couldn’t resist, John) that was very knowledgeable about that sort of thing. Greg explained how to post and to put “John Benedict” in the subject line where it would call his attention to it. I did and John responded with some long winded diatribe about Walmart and Hanes underwear (oops, Just Kidding, My Bad ). Actually he was very informative and told me what he knew.

That was my FIRST experience with Greg, John, and the Chipboard. Not long I had a new family of friends and became a member of the Casino Chip Collectors. Below id the chip (JETON) that started it all….
