A project has been completed, from 20th Century to Zanzibar. After months of work, the final chip (Zanzibar Club, $5, TCR# N6487) of an amazing collection was added to the ChipGuide.
Several months ago Alex Cilento donated images of his collection of 3,451 Las Vegas table chips (no roulette or Limited Edition chips) to the ChipGuide. An image of both sides of each chip were provided, even if they were the same so that we could choose the better image to go into the ChipGuide. Each image was edited (aligned, circle cropped, re-sized and some were color enhanced) before entry into the ChipGuide. With each image went information about the chip (denomination, color, mold, inserts, inlay, description and The Chip Rack number - thanks SSS Publishing). I would say that on average it took 2 minutes to process each chip. For me ... it was amazing journey through the history of Las Vegas and the chance to view more "Z" valued chips than I thought existed.
1,995 (58%) of the 3,451 chips were added to the ChipGuide, the rest were already there. It is the largest donation of a personal collection to the ChipGuide to date. The amount of time that Alex spent cataloging and scanning his collection was enormous and of the highest quality. The ChipGuide, and the entire hobby, thanks Alex for his donation.
(The last of the collection went up to day, Westside Story to Zanzibar, so you won't see them until to tomorrow.)
