These chips were ordered for an unlicensed operation that failed to open. All was ready and set to go and was just days away from opening in a basement location at a downtown hotel in Springfield, Illinois, just a block away from the Capital Building and all those lIllinois Legislators (mostly living in Chicago areas) looking for something to do after hours and away from home while the Legislature was in session!

Owned and set to be operated by my Grandfather, Tull C. Lasswell (TCL), he suffered a fatal heart attack just days before the opening, which was days before the new Mayor took office, who, interestingly enough, was backed by my Grandfather.

Oh well, best laid plans....

A few of these have remained in the family. I have extras of the yellow, but only one of the red and black.
