It looks like that is now how it is. I was told the other day that the Hard Rock will no longer make special room keys for events. Everyone who stays there will be using their slot player's card instead. They have already loaded up all of the key holders with slot cards. If there is a special event then when they insert the card into whatever holder they use, they will also insert a paper slip with details of the event.

They are also doing construction in the area where the original poker room was. That area will become a lounge area with live music. Geared towards those who attend the various concerts at the Joint.

In addition...The fairly new VIP area that was once the Peacock Lounge was short lived. They turned that into a gift shop as shown below.
