I couldn't understand the concept of 'chapters' when this issue first came up several years ago. As I see it, there is a desire for groups of CC>CC members who are near one another to get together from time to time to trade, socialize, etc. There is no particular need for an organizational structure to accommodate this. I could forsee future problems when the move began to define different kinds and degrees of membership... is the chapter a "member" of the club? Are CC>CC members "members" of a new organization or not?

The Northwest chippers get together from time to time and have no formal organization. It seems to me this eliminates a lot of questions and potential problems.

If there is truly a need for an "organization", particularly for large groups like Las Vegas and Atlantic City have, this can best be met by forming a club outside the boundaries of CC>CC. They can then have any rules they want for local membership.

Can someone tell me what benefits a "Chapter" organization provides over that of an independent group of chippers or a separate club?
