when I first moved to Florida, I got a job with the highway department - so I know this is true:

"You know you're from Florida if there is a Waffle House at every exit."

(I worked in the site plan review office that considered proposals for adding freeway exits - if there wasn't a Waffle House, the plan was automatically rejected)
