brown AL (hard to see): Eljardin Hotel, Brownsville TX 1931 (very large order)
brown CB: also to the Eljardin (El Jardin) Hotel in Brownsville 1931
BMS & RIS both are white 1.00 & yellow 5.00: Southland Hotel, Dallas 1941. There are also RIS chips in 50c, 25.00 & 100.00 and BMS chips in 25.00. The 1.00 & 5.00 chips appear in Ed Hertel's illegals guide. The Southland was a very important location in Texas gaming history, with many of the games being run by Benny Binion and his partners.
brown-red BS/1.00 (not shown): Bailey Surginer, Waco TX 1934
HN blue: Herbert Noble, Dallas TX 1936
XX blue: Herman Williams, Houston TX 1935
All of these were parts of large orders. If only these chips could talk! What they could say about the heyday of Texas gaming. I have duplicates of a few of these, though not all, for trade or sale. steve g
