In Response To: Question about Sahara Dice. ()

However, you have not indicated if the dice are old or new. That will make a difference. The Sahara open in 1952 (my birth year) and have dice since day 1. That is quite a number of different designs and issues. Stick sizes may have changed over the years, from 2 die to 6 die and nearly any combination between, but the real trick here is to know what era.

If recent, I would be very concerned about a hoard and I caution this...

1. I do not believe that Gaming requires destruction of unused dice.

2. The Sahara should and probably did have many on-hand, up until the end.

3. It is NOT unheard of for dice manufacturers to continue the production of dice (and cards in the case of card manufactures) after a place closes down, especially if there is a market for such souvenirs! If nothing else, those manufacturers may have a lot of inventory on-hand that they made during an earlier production run.
