has boasted as being "higher and mightier" than any non-members. Being a member means being bound to a code of ethics that non-members aren't "bound to". It doesn't mean that non-members aren't as honorable or trustworthy as a member. Once again, it's pretty much just a sense of reassurance that club members have when dealing with each other. The best example I can give is say that a club member bought some chip from me & I sent it to him before receipt of payment which never came. Through the club, I have a method of "recourse". Say that same scenario happened between me & a non-member -- too bad for me. Or I buy a chip from a non-member off of this BB & it arrives not as described or pictured -- what recourse do I have -- NONE. If that same scenario happens between two members, there are guidelines in place where the buyer gets the correct chip or a refund. That's all -- it's just a little more peace of mind for some.
As far as being "screwed" four times by members, if two of those times were the "Bid Retraction" issue, that's being screwed by s policies as bid retractions are allowed per their rules. The other two times...don't know what those were about but there are methods of recourse if those club members violated the 's Code of Ethics.
