At one time the Victoria was the class of Costa ships sailing to the Caribbean. We sailed her from Genoa, Italy to Rome via the entire length of Italy and a visit to Palermo, Sicily and from Fort Lauderdale to the eastern Caribbean. Being of Sicilian decent, it was a fun time entering the Mediterranean ports flying the Italian flag. On board, you could take Italian lessons, play bocci ball tournaments complete with all the arguments that go with the bowling game and eat pasta at every meal. I remember the BJ chip you describe, but I did not get one. The first time I played in the casino we played for lira while in Italian waters, but in the Caribbean the Victoria used dollar value chips. Despite the Concordia's tragic accident, Costa Cruise Lines is the top cruise line in Europe and has operated their vessels with professionalism and integrity every time we have been aboard. Thanks for reminding me of some very pleasant memories.
