Additional information on stability of CG #'s...
In Response To: Chip Guide Etiquette... ()

In a follow-on discussion (emails) with Charles Kaplan, after I had posted my earlier reply to this thread, Charles explained that every effort is made to NOT have an assigned CG #. However, it was noted that, in the automated process of moving scans and data from Greg Susong's version of ChipGuide into the current version of ChipGuide, some entries were duplicated, with the duplicate being issued a new CG #.

This happened several times (2 or 3) for Arizona entries and since I have Arizona ChipGuide Admin duties, I was aware of the potential issue and posted my reply accordingly. However, it should be noted that this condition is very limited and is being worked on to eliminate the few errors.

Charles has done an unbelievable job in developing the code to run the existing ChipGuide and the code that allowed Greg's version to be imported. Charles is constantly tweaking and improving ChipGuide and I struggle to understand how he has the time to do it.

ChipGuide is a spectacular and formidable resource for all casino chip and memorabilia collectors and I thank Charles for his leadership ntechnical abilities, Greg Susong for his original development of the site(s) (what a visionary!), the MoGH for taking on this Project and very importantly, Carol Susong for permitting this legacy to continue.

OK, I'm done, but I'm very thrilled by what ChipGuide was and has become, and while I know there are others that deserve our Thanks, I just wanted to take this opportunity to express my appreciation of this Project!
